I'm a beginner with ESXi and would like to setup a file server on Windows 2016 VM. I obviously don't want to give the VM my full 2TB of drive storage, so can I only give it 60GB of Hard Drive when setting it up and then allow the Windows Server to store the files on the ESXi datastore directly outside of the Windows Server VM? How do I create something like this that can grow as my files grow towards 2TB? I don't know the keywords to ask Google this question.
