Hi,
I plan to setup vSphere Essentials Plus at work. I need to take an existing infrastructure and migrate
it to use vSphere.
Is it better if I custom build my own server (mobo, + cpu, +..etc) or should I purchase a name-brand
tower? (At this moment, I don't have the space/setup to have rack mounted stuff).
I'm planning to have two host machines, one a 'backup' of the other (via vMotion I think).
Is it 'logical' to have the following setup in addition to the above?
I'm moving my firewall and e-mail server to VMs under 1 host, such that it should act as if I did
the following:
HOST
<internet>---- [Firewall vm]---- <lan>
[ | ]
[ email vm ]
I'd have a DMZ within the HOST. And I'd need two NiCs for the HOST (vSphere). If I have a machine
with two NICs, would I be able to use one for the Internet and the other for the LAN?
Thanks
