Hello, briefly we are trying to get VMware Ready certification, and the efforts to build the test bed are just stuck and going in circles. I've been back and forth over every detail I can think of and then some, but all we're getting is "Trouble launching test: Error registering with STAF, RC 639824799958302720.."
DNS is setup between the workbench appliance and the two hosts, all three can resolve each other. STAF is installed on all the target machines and can communicate back and forth between the target machines and the workbench appliance. STAF pings are working. The windows machines are set to auto-login with the firewalls disabled, STAF is launching as root, the install helper shows that it's active. Does it perhaps fail to register if it doesn't have DNS entries for EVERY one of the test machines in /etc/hosts?
Only log files I've found are nohup.out and stafproc.out, and neither has any real conclusive error.
I've been staring at this for weeks and I haven't found anything useful either through experimentation or my own research, so I'd really appreciate any suggestions folks can make, in case they've experienced this themselves.
